Planting Cotton Variety Trial

We were finally able to get our variety trial planted Wednesday. These fields did not receive rain for nearly 4 weeks until last Friday. We got good moisture now, and field conditions were good for planting. We’re looking at varieties planted dryland on Maddox Road. We were able to get in 10 varieties planted at 4 replications over two different fields. Thanks to grower Mat Thompson for collaborating on the trial. We had good help from Jodie Stringer with Boston Gin. Also, Brooks County Agent Ben Shirley and intern Megan Powell helped too. Here is a couple of pictures from Wednesday:
